Palm and Microsoft Join to Create Treo 700w

Mobile-computing pioneer Palm, Inc. and software pioneer Microsoft Corp. announced a strategic alliance to accelerate the smartphone market segment with a new device for mobile professionals and businesses. PalmSource Acquired By ACCESS

ACCESS Inc, a Tokyo-based company that develops mobile Internet software, said it will acquire PalmSource, for as much as 35.8 billion yen ($324 million) in an all cash deal. Brighthand is reporting that Hitachi has released two new microdrives; a 6 GB model and an 8 GB model. Hitachi has confirmed that Palm will be using the 6 GB model in a future device.
